Pickle respects the security and privacy concerns of users of our Application. Personal information collected through our Application will be controlled by Pickle.
The information that we need
In order for you to use Pickle’s Service, Pickle collects the following personal information about each user but we will only collect this information if you voluntarily provide it to us: information like your name, address, phone number and email address, which you provide to us by completing the registration process within the Application; your log-in details; any message, notes or other communications you send to us e.g. queries relating to the functionality of the Application; we may also require you to provide us with your financial information, including billing name, address and credit card number where you choose to use our services; information from questionnaires, competitions and campaigns that we may, from time to time, run on the Application, if you choose to respond to, or participate in them; information relating to your real-time location; information that you post within the Application in the form of comments and reviews about other users; photos you may upload, offers that you may make on jobs or proposed fees that you are prepared to pay and other information we may suggest or you decide to upload to your profile.
Why we need the information and what we do with it
Pickle uses the personal information that you provide for lots of different things but it’s almost always to make sure we provide our users with the best possible service. Your personal information means that we can: provide the Service that you expect to you on an individualised basis; accurately identify you for the purpose of billing, authentication and avoid fraudulent activity; constantly review the use of the Application and make sure we keep improving it; get in touch with you when we need to (we wouldn’t want you to miss out on new features or offers); identify bugs within the Application and fix them as quickly as possible; market the Service.
Your access to the information that we hold relating to you
The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the legislation and any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with this information.
You can opt-out
You may opt out of receiving communications from us and request the removal of your information from our database at any time. If you wish for this to happen simple drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org
Sharing of Information
It is our policy to not pass your information to any third parties save where it is required to complete any transaction, where we are required to do so by law or where you have positively indicated that you consent to us doing so (including in your data preference settings). We may however market third party products or services that are expressly connected with the services provided to you. We may also, occasionally, include advertising for third party products or services on the Application, or in newsletters or other communications you receive from us.
We will from time to time engage certain other companies and individuals to perform certain functions on our behalf such as payment processing (as mentioned above), delivery of products to distribution partners, the provision of usage and sales reporting and providing customer services. These companies will have access only to your personal information needed to perform their functions and may not use it for other purposes. Further, they are required to process your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice, in accordance with our instruction and as otherwise provided for in the Data Protection Act 1998.
We do not store credit card details nor do we share financial details with any 3rd parties.
Where we may store your information
Information that you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). For example, this may happen if one or more of our servers are from time to time located in a country outside the EEA or one of our service providers is located in a country outside the EEA. If you make contact with any user featured on the Application, your details may be transferred outside the EEA. If we transfer your details outside the EEA in this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected. By submitting information via the Application, you agree to this storing, processing and transfer.
If we provide you with the opportunity to refer a friend to the Service via email and/or SMS we will need to collect your email address and/or mobile number and the email address and/or mobile number of those to whom you send the Application link. We will use the email addresses and/or mobile number collected this way for no other purpose except to send the Application link, and the addresses and numbers will be deleted once the page has been sent unless you have opted in to receive information and promotions from us as set out above using the same email address and/or mobile number, in which case we will retain your email address and/or mobile number for this purpose unless and until you notify us that you wish to stop receiving information.
Our Application and links to external applications and/or websites
We may incorporate links to websites or applications not owned or controlled by Pickle including through advertising featured on the Service. Pickle is not responsible for the content of any external websites or applications and is not responsible for the data collection practices of any external website or application.
Whenever we obtain your personal information we take reasonable precautions to protect it from unauthorised access or disclosure, but we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted over the internet or mobile networks. We accept no liability for any disclosure of data due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third party access or other acts of third parties, or acts or omissions beyond our reasonable control.
Pickle respects the intellectual property of others:
- Any queries, reports or complaints regarding copyright should be reported by mail to our registered address, or by email or any other equally advantageous method. Emails should be sent to email@example.com.
- All claims should include sufficient detail to specifically identify the infringement, this can include but is not limited to URLs, location specifics and published work titles.
- In addition to the aforementioned, we require proof that the “claimant” is the copyright holder, and all if any relevant contact details for the “claimant”.
- Pickle also requires you as the disputer to provide a statement of fact this should state your name, permanent/residential address an email address and a statement that you are acting in good faith.
- In the instance you are acting on behalf of the copyright owner you are required to provide a statement from the copyright owner giving you permission to act within their interest of the copyright this should be accompanied by a statement of fact from yourself with all applicable details (see above).
